Thousands of miles away… (yet, I can hear joyful sounds coming from afar)

Sounds so familiar coming from afar…

A beautiful wedding song…

Seven gowns…

Chattering guests…

A beautiful bride and a proud groom…

Tasty smells…Oh! Joyful sounds…

Now I know how it feels being out of the scene, like a dead granted the wish to be back in life so to attend an event they’ve always wanted to be in, yet with the condition of not being talked to or even seen…

Not attending my sister’s wedding!!! At first, it did not sound very painful, but as daylight sneaked through my window, I realized IT IS TODAY that my only sister is getting married, while I am thousands and thousands of miles away from home. I won’t be there to look at her smile, to count her seven gowns and take pictures of  her each and every move, I won’t be running here and there, going back and forth- making sure everything is going well and that everybody is pleased… I won’t be there and she won’t see how happy for her I am!

Yet, I will be here, praying my internet connexion is at its best, playing wedding songs and thinking what is going on out there, checking my Skype every moment of the day to see if anyone is connected, if anyone would grant me the wish to see my sister in her most special day, putting one dress after the other and dancing…  I’ll be here praying a door would open through my computer screen, or that a hand sneaks into my room and draws me to where my heart is right now! Yeah! I’ll be here! I’ll be here!!
